Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Zahlhaus website and app, operated under the name zahlhaus.com ("Zahlhaus", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Zahlhaus is a listening-practice service for German numbers. It plays spoken German numbers, dates, times, prices, phone numbers, and related content for you to transcribe, and it tracks your mistakes, accuracy, and progress so you can improve. The service is provided on an "as is" basis and we may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

You sign in with Google or with a one-time email sign-in link. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and Google account secure, since either can be used to sign in. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the service only for your own personal learning.

Passes and payment

Zahlhaus is sold as one-time passes, not as recurring subscriptions. A pass grants access for the period stated at the time of purchase (for example, a fixed-duration pass or a lifetime pass). You will not be automatically charged on a recurring basis. Payments are processed by Stripe; by purchasing, you also agree to Stripe's terms as the payment processor. Prices are shown before purchase. Where you have a statutory right to a refund or cancellation, that right is not affected by these Terms; outside of that, passes are generally non-refundable once access has been granted.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you agree not to: attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; probe, scan, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure; copy, scrape, resell, or redistribute the audio or other content; use automated means to access the service except as expressly permitted; or use the service in any way that is unlawful or that infringes the rights of others. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

Intellectual property

The Zahlhaus name, the app, the website, the audio, and the other content we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the service for your own learning while these Terms are in effect. The data you generate by using the service (your answers, progress, and statistics) remains associated with your account and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Zahlhaus is a self-study aid. We do not guarantee any particular learning outcome, exam result, or level of fluency. The service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zahlhaus will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including certain rights you may have as a consumer.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence that apply to you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
